I am very new to this forum and to the Ghost software and to add I am not part of IT. I am CAD Administrator \ Design Engineer that will be doing training and needed a solution to re-image 6 PC's each time training is completed. So our IT decided to go with Ghost, since they have never used it, nor have I.
Now that you have a little background about myself here is the problem. I have been having a hard time getting my head around the software. I did finally find one of our IT techs to help me to create the Bootable DVD. Now that I have the DVD he said it should be really easy to create the image. Just plug in the External HDD and when the menus appear select it and save your image to that HDD. If it helps at all,l I am trying to image a Laptop (Dell M4700) using Windows 7.
Turns out when the USB External HDD (Western Digital My Book 3TB) is plugged in the DVD boots right to a DOS Prompt path and stays there, it never launches the Ghost menus. I tried to browse to the ghost32.exe file and launch it, but the window pops up for a split second and shuts down. If I unplug the External HDD it works fine., but I cannot save it anywhere else because there is not enough room for the image to be created.
I am using the latest Ghost Suite 2.5, but have not seen any solutions for this sort of behavior yet.
Any suggestions?
Best Regards,
Scott
