I need a solution

Hi there,

We are trying to understand the server keys and are having a few issues.

Here is some background info:

Server IP: 10.100.50.10

Server Name: SYMGSS3-T01

FQDN: SYMGSS31T01.company.com

It also has a DNS entry - ghost.company.com

In the server configuration, under the transport tab, "Allow encrypted sessions" is ticked.

Currently our agents are setup to:

Server Connection Tab: Connect directly to this ghost server

Server Connection Tab: Address host name: ghost.company.com

Security Tab: Encrypt session communications with Ghost Solution Server Suite is ticked.

Security Tab: Require Encrypted session with any server is not ticked.

Everything connects as expected and works.

We would however like to enable the  "Enable key-based authentication to ghost solution suite".

We have enabled this setting, and when requested, pointed to the Server.Key file in the deployment folder.

It seems however when the remote agent is installed with those options, it doens't register on the server.

What am I missing? Should I not be using the dns entry for our ghost server? If not, what should I use? The IP, Server Name or FQDN?

If I wanted to the use the DNS entry we have in place, how can I generate a key that will work?

Much appreciative of any guidance anyone can provide!

Regards,

Sim.
