I have installed the remote client and the client has indicated it has updated the record of the PC and should send that record back to the server but it doesn't show up on the Console. There is a connection from the client to the server (I know this because the PXE server pushed WindPE10 to the PC). Any ideas?
Client PC will not register with Ghost Console
Can't join domain
I am trying to add a computer (windows 8.1) to a windows 2012R2 domain with the "Update configuration"-task, but i'm getting an error.
In the Modify Configuration prompt i've filled:
- Domain (lan.domain.xx/Workstations/Mijdrecht/Leerlingen)
- Computername: %NAME% (as token)
And under: Options > Domain accounts i've added the right account with sufficient rights to add a pc to the domain.
As error i'm seeing:
"The system cannot open the device or file specified".
With a couple of changes within this task i am able to do the following:
- Change PC name
- Change Workgroup
Anyone got an idea what to do?
Ps. adding the computer manual, with the same credentials works without problems (so it isn't a bad password..)
Thanks in advance,
Jorrit

Restore after repartitioning
Hello
I apologize if this is not the appropriate forum. Please direct me to an adequate forum, if needed.
I try to restore a HP Pavillion Laptop with a Windows Vista system. The image copy was made in 2010 using the program Norton Ghost 12. After booting the CD and choosing the image file, the program tells me "invalid target drive".
The partition table has been changed since the backup was made. I susptect this is the cause for the error. I do not know the original partition table. I know that the Vista system partition I try to restore from is smaller than the current Vista partition in the computer.
Is there any way to restore this computer?
Thanks.

Optiplex 5040 not finding PXE server when booting
GSS 3.1
WinPE10
Hi all,
I remotely installed the client onto the Optiplex 5040, created the task to deploy an image that I had created from a different GSS server and tried to send the image to the machine. PxE tries to boot up but it cannot find the PxE server and the task details show that the computer is unable to boot to Windows automation (Status code 16).The services are running on the machine, and the driver that is being used on the 5040 is included in the list of drivers under the PxE boot image.
Thanks!
"Error: Unable to locate imaging tool for Linux x86 environment" -> after booting to automation
** Sorry !! Of course this topic should be placed at Ghost Solution Suite, not here.... If I could ask someone to put it in right place :) **
Hello,
Having some problem after deployed a new fresh installation of Ghost Solution Suite 3.0 HF5 (build 1518). (also tried with fresh installation and HF3)
When booting clients into automation on network PXE - WindowsPE pre-boot files works like a charm, but when trying to make a bootable Linux preboot - this error occurs : "Error: Unable to locate imaging tool for Linux x86 environment"
Linux itself loads, but at the point where it should be "pushing" image - it just reboots (how boot looks -> in attachment)
It is werid, because on other older Win SRV 2008 R2 -> where I had the same version it works like a charm.
Where is a problem ?
Error message on console - Out Of Memory
We recently installed a fresh install of server 2012, SQL Express 2014 and Solution Suite 3.1
Server has 16gb Ram and 2 Tb Hard drive for the shared folder. Currently we have around 300 PCs being managed with another 300 soon to be added
3 times in the past 2 weeks when ive remoted in to the server an error message is displayed on the screen saying 'Out of Memory'
It hasnt been running any tasks or jobs to cause the system to run out of resources.
I checked the processes in task manager and there is only 5% cpu being used and 33% Ram being used. The only way to get rid of the message is to reboot the server.
Has anybody else had this issue?
Thanks

Computer rebooting endlessly after joining our domain
"Cette objet ne se trouve pas sur le serveur"
That's the error message i'm getting after adding a Windows 10 computer to our 2012R2 domain.
The computer is obviously correctly added to the domain because i can see it in our "stations" OU, but the computer keep rebooting endlessly and is unusable !
The only way to regain control over it is to unplug the lan cable, and downgrade to its former non-domain state.
Currently we are eligible for technical support (we bought 450 GSS 3.1 licences + 50 renewal one month ago)
Your help would be appreciated.

Boot Disk Creator error creating partion installer
Hi,
When i try to create a partition installer the process finishes with an error. I have the Ghost Deployment Suite in another serveur and didn't have any problem whatsoever, however in this installation i've had a number of different problems, but managed to fix those but this one. I've already reinstalled the whole suite hoping to fix, but no luck with that.
One strange thing i notice when trying to create the partition installer is this:
This processor type is greyed out, in my other system is not like that.
Anyway if a keep with the creating it does the process until here:
The error says: "Boot .... doesn't take in account the demanded operation.."
Needless to say, but if i try to install the installer folder in a client i doesn't work anyway.
I would be really grateful if anyone could give a light.
Just to clarify, the Suite is installed in a Windows 7, in a vm in XenServer.

Trouble pulling image HP z240 Symantec Ghost 11.5
I'm having difficulty pulling an image from a newly purchased HP Z240. As mentioned we are using GhostCast Server 11.5. The client computer is Windows 7 Pro x64.
The client computer boots to the network fine, gets an IP address, connects and then gets stuck on transferring image. It never makes it to the Ghost screen...it just hangs there.
I have updated the nic driver, the bios, the firmware and everything else I could download from HP for the computer. I verified that GhostCast does work for other computer makes/models. I have disabled AV and the firewall on the server.
I tried booting to Windows PE as an alternative but once I get to the Ghost screen I have no mouse or keyboard.
Anybody have any thoughts or run into this issue before?
Need Some Help With Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 and Dell E6420
Hey all. I was hoping to get a bit of help with using Symantec Ghost on some Dell E6420 laptops.
First off, I am sure most of the first advice people will offer will be to search the forums. I have been doing that for the last three days. Everything I have found has not worked for me.
The laptops I am trying to send the Windows 7 ghost image to are Dell E6420 with the Intel 82579LM NIC. I have narrowed down the driver I need by matching the Vendor IDs, Device IDs, and Subsystem IDs from a couple E6420s with Windows installed on them. Windows 7 uses e1c6232, so I chose e1c6032 since I need the driver to work with Vista 32-bit. When I check the .inf file all the IDs are there.
I have tried adding the driver through Ghost Boot Wizard and also by this method: http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/manually-ad... Both methods do not work.
The E6420 laptops do connect to the network, and ipconfig shows no network interfaces. We have been using ThinkPad T400 laptops fine. I can ping a T400, but cannot ping the E6420.
Could anyone offer some advice on where to go from here? If I can't get this working I will have to go back to the way we have been ghosting before: transfering the image to a hard drive in a T400, then swapping the hard drive into the 6420. It adds time, and isn't economical when we have to ghost 50 or 60 laptops.
Thanks.
